Have you ever heard the expression “Life of Riley”? It’s used to describe someone who lives a carefree, luxurious life. Lots of people assume that pastors live the “Life of Riley.” After all, when they’re not jetting around the world speaking at churches and visiting missionaries, they’re either out playing golf or lounging in their office reading or chatting with church members and staff, right?
Not quite. The truth is that many pastors live a life of worry and depression. Not only do they have church issues to deal with, they also family problems and bills to pay like the rest of us. And, they often have no one to confide in which can lead to feelings of isolation and abandonment.
You can be the one to remind your pastor that he is loved and appreciated. Take time this week to reach out to your pastor and let him know you care.
