Do you know someone who is thankful despite having every reason not to be? I do. My sister. She’s bedfast and has been for years. But she rarely ever complains and remains thankful to God for His salvation despite her circumstances. I would do anything to change those circumstances for her, but the best I can do is to be a brother and friend. While her case is severe, most people have very difficult situations in their lives. Our pastors do. Often, we think that their lives are great, and they have everything under control because they don’t show their inner struggles publicly. We can be brothers, sisters and friends to our pastor and their family, and encourage in all situations. Make their work a joy. Be sure they are taking rest times. Look out for their family. And be thankful that we have a pastor who willingly takes on the pressures of the job for the sake of the kingdom. This year let’s be intentional to tell our pastors how thankful we are for them.
