Van & Ressie Nelson

Van & Ressie Nelson

International Pastor Support

Both Van and Ressie Nelson were reared in Christian homes. Van grew up in a pastor’s home and was led to Christ by his dad. Growing up Ressie was encouraged to be involved in her church. They met in college and have served in missions together for over 20 years.

Van has previously served as a senior pastor, has been trained in Intentional Interim Ministry, and has served three churches as an interim pastor.

Van and Ressie serve with Energize Ministries as international pastor care partners. Their love for those in ministry grew out of their own experience, seeing the need first-hand. Today, they focus on caring for pastors and their wives and Christian leaders in Norway, Sweden, and the Caribbean but travel the world to minister to those who are often forgotten, pastors. The result is seeing pastors and Christian leaders with a renewed vision to “press towards the mark” (Philippians 3:14).

The Nelsons make their home in Winston-Salem, NC. When they are not traveling they minister here in the USA. They have four grown children who with their families are all walking with the Lord.

Andy Solis

Andy Solis

Director of Hispanic Pastor Care

Andy Solis grew up as a PK and has served in the church in various capacities his whole life. Having personally experienced the grueling reality of ministry and the intimate challenges that pastor’s and their families face day to day, God has given him a heart to serve and be a confidant to our spiritual leaders. After praying for God to show him the next step in serving Him, God allowed Andy Solis and Andy Bowersox to cross paths, simultaneously answering both of their prayers. Andy answered God’s call to join the Energize team and serve the Spanish speaking community.

Having served in both English and Spanish speaking ministries, as well as on international mission trips, allows Andy to provide specialized care and service to Energize Ministries’ Spanish speaking community.

Andy serves locally at his home church playing guitar on the worship team, leading the church’s singles group, and is a member of the men’s leadership team.

Andy graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship and minor in Economics. As a business professional, Andy has a background in banking, marketing, multi-national non-profit organizational leadership and currently works full-time in Human Resources where he leads with God’s love at the forefront of every interaction.

Andy resides in Winston-Salem, NC and on his downtime enjoys playing music, riding motorcycles, camping on the Outer Banks, longboarding, and enjoys visiting new local coffee shops.

Bob & Bev Uber

Bob & Bev Uber

Chaplains to Chaplains

Bob and Bev focus on support for our military and 1st responder chaplains.  They live in High Point, NC.  They have been married three years.  Bob has three grown children and so does Bev.

Bob is a combat officer from Vietnam where he received a Bronze Star for valor.  Bev is from the U.K. and her background is nursing and social work with an emphasis on mental health.  Bob brings a background of ministry to the military; particularly with military chaplains as an international speaker, conducting over 30 military marriage seminars on military bases.  “Stop the unraveling of military marriages” was the request of almost every chaplain, since 72% of marriages do not survive their initial deployment to a combat zone.  Bev’s background and experience in social work and mental health was often directed to the British Special Forces particauly post Gulf War and the War in Afghanistan. She met frequently with veterans experiencing combat trauma.  Her experience and faith have enabled her to help countless veterans with their depression and anxiety as she assists them in transitioning into civilian life.

Together they host special restorative marriage retreats for military and 1st responder chaplains and their spouses at the Energize Lodge.

Cindy Annan

Cindy Annan

Director's Assistant

Cindy grew up as a PK and then spent 40 years as a pastor’s wife serving churches in PA, OH and then NC.  She and her husband, Dave were high school sweethearts and raised seven children—6 girls and 1 boy-together.  They are now blessed with 8 grandchildren.   From a young child, Cindy knew she wanted to be a teacher and followed that dream by getting her degree in elementary education.  She used those skills teaching in a Christian school and then homeschooling her children.  She has spent the last 20 years directing a church preschool.

Being in ministry, their family experienced both the highs and lows of ministry and some of those lows inspired Dave to help found Energize Ministries.  Dave  passed away in 2018 after a four year battle with melanoma.  Helping to carry on Dave’s dream here at Energize Ministries has brought much healing and joy on this new journey of widowhood.

Charlotte Jumper

Charlotte Jumper

Pastor's Wife Support

Charlotte’s role at Energize Ministries is to provide support for our pastors’ wives. Charlotte has been involved in mentoring for many years and currently serves as a leader in her church’s mentoring ministry.  She served four years as a caregiver in the Stephens Ministry program where she met her husband. Her passion is to serve women, inspiring and encouraging them so they realize that they are never alone.  We serve a God rich in mercy, and his great love is never withheld from us.

In 2019, she went on a mission trip to the UBTS Baptist Seminary in L’viv, Ukraine, where she taught, encouraged, and mentored women pursing degrees in ministry.  It was this experience that opened up her eyes and created  in her a desire to do more for God in her retirement years. God was working in her heart and stirring the desire for something new – something that used her gifts to glorify Him. She is excited about connecting Pastors’ wives so that they can come alongside one other in prayer and encouragement; not only sharing in each other’s joys and blessings, but also in life’s challenges.

Charlotte is married to Stephen, who is serving as the North America Mission’s Coordinator for International Commission. Together they have three daughters and four grandchildren.  She loves  traveling with her husband, being outdoors, gardening, and playing golf with friends. In her spare time, she loves to read, write, and work on various projects.
